New York Alternative investment Roundtable Announces President-Elect

NEW YORK, N.Y., May 23, 2023 – The New York Alternative Investment Roundtable (Roundtable) is proud to announce that Kunjan Mehta has been named the organization’s next president, beginning January 1, 2024. As president-elect, Mehta will continue to work with the current and outgoing president, Alessandra Tocco, to transition all duties.

Mehta is a partner at Grant Thornton, where he primarily focuses on assurance services within the Asset Management Industry. He also serves as the President of ASCEND Leadership’s Connecticut/Westchester Chapter.

“Kunjan’s longtime involvement with the Roundtable and his in-depth knowledge of the alternative investment industry make him the perfect individual to assume the helm of the Roundtable,” said Tocco, who will remain a director of the Roundtable and continue to be actively involved in its leadership. “Having served as president of the Roundtable for nearly four years, I felt it was time to hand over the reins for the day-to-day management. I am proud of everything the organization accomplished during my term, particularly how actively engaged we were able to keep members throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and the quality of educational content we created during that time –and continue to produce.”

Tim Selby, chairman of the Roundtable, said he believes Mehta is the perfect person to maintain the momentum that the Roundtable has built up within the alternative investment industry. “Ali’s contribution to the Roundtable has been invaluable and we are thankful for her leadership, particularly during the difficult pandemic period. And I am delighted that we have someone equally capable and knowledgeable about the industry in Kunjan,” said Selby.

Mehta, who has been involved with the Roundtable since 2008, is excited to be taking over its leadership. “The Roundtable is a one-of-a-kind organization that has managed to find the perfect balance between promoting education and best practices within the alternative investment industry and providing unique and appealing networking opportunities,” he said. “I look forward to building on the Roundtable’s achievements of the past 20 years and helping to continue expanding the organization by bringing in young professionals who will comprise the alternative industry’s next generation.”
