An in-depth conversation with Quadratic Capital Management’s Nancy Davis and Truvvo Partners’ Casey Whalen on a broad range of topics across the alternative investment industry, including their views on markets and beyond. Bloomberg TV reporter Sonali Basak moderates a conversation with these high-profile women as part of the New York Alternative Investment Roundtable’s fourth annual all-female panel in honor of International Women’s Day.

Nancy Davis is the founder and managing partner of Quadratic Capital Management and is the portfolio manager for The Quadratic Interest Rate Volatility and Inflation Hedge ETF. Prior to launching Quadratic, she was a portfolio manager at Highbridge Capital Management where she managed a $500 million derivatives only portfolio. She later served in a senior executive role at AllianceBernstein. She began her career at Goldman Sachs, where she ultimately served as the firm’s Head of Credit, Derivatives and OTC Trading. Among other honors, she has been named one of the “100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance” by Barron’s, a “Rising Star of Hedge Funds” and one of “Tomorrow’s Titans” by Institutional Investor.

Casey Whalen is CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Truvvo Partners and a member of the Investment Committee. She is a founding member of the firm. Prior to Truvvo, Casey was the Chief Investment Officer of The New York Public Library, where she joined as its first Chief Investment Officer with a mandate to create the Office of Investments. Before The New York Public Library, she was Director of Public Investments for The Rockefeller University, focusing primarily on global equities, hedge funds, and fixed income. She began her investment career at the Yale University Investments Office working across various asset classes including foreign equities, real estate, and fixed income. She is a board member and Treasurer of the Yale Swimming and Diving Association, having been a member of the Yale Varsity Women’s Swimming team; serves on the Investment Committee of the Rockefeller Family Fund and is a member and board member of the New York City chapter of GenNext.

Sonali Basak is the lead Wall Street correspondent for Bloomberg TV and a writer for Bloomberg News, where she is a frequent contributor to Businessweek and Markets Magazine. Prior to joining Bloomberg, she worked as a technology reporter freelancing for outlets including David Kirkpatrick’s Techonomy and Chicago Tribune’s Blue Sky Initiative, among others.
