Daniel Fischer (Dan) is a Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Foreign Exchange Sales at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co where he has worked since 2014. Mr. Fischer manages a team of voice and electronic traders utilizing a platform that focuses on hedge funds, CTAs and other professional investors.
Mr. Fischer has a great deal of leadership experience in capital markets. Prior to joining Cantor Fitzgerald, he was co-head of Foreign Exchange (FX) Prime Brokerage and e-Commerce Distribution for Société General/ Newedge. His prior roles include: Head of North America FX Sales for Natixis, and Global Head of Foreign Exchange Sales & Marketing at Bear Stearns & Co.
Mr. Fischer also has extensive experience in the alternative investment space as both an investor and marketer. Before joining Bear Stearns, Mr. Fischer was a Marketing Manager for Lehman Brothers Global Asset Management in London, where he was responsible for the distribution of Lehman’s off-shore hedge funds, fund of funds products, and managed futures investments. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Fischer was head of New Business Development at Chang Crowell Management, a Connecticut based alternative investment manager.
Mr. Fischer began his financial career at the FINEX division of the NY Cotton exchange, where he marketed the US Dollar Index Futures and Options.
Mr. Fischer holds a dual MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University and a Bachelors of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
