Bob Stearns, Managing Partner, Longship Alternative Asset Management. Bob has over 35 years of experience in the hedge fund business. His background includes trading, research and raising assets. He began his hedge fund career in 1987 as Bruce Kovner’s trading assistant at Caxton, which grew to be one of the largest Global Macro Hedge Funds. Bob was later the CIO of the fund of funds business at EGM in San Francisco and then the senior hedge fund analyst at Kenmar a large fund of funds based in Greenwich CT. Bob began his career on Wall Street in Shearson’s commodity research department as a chartist / technical analyst back when you had to draw charts by hand. Longship raises assets for a few select hedge fund managers that we have known for a long time. We believe in the wisdom of grey hair, we earned every one of them.
